What Is Scale Model Club Like?

Scale Model Club is a laid-back evening for people who enjoy building, painting and displaying scale models.

Whether you work on military kits, aircraft, vehicles, sci-fi models, dioramas or something completely different, the club gives you a regular place to work on projects and spend time with other hobbyists.

You can bring an existing project, start something new or simply come along to see what other people are working on.

What We Work On

Projects can vary widely from person to person.

You might see:

  • Aircraft

  • Military vehicles

  • Cars and motorbikes

  • Ships

  • Science-fiction kits

  • Custom builds and conversions

The club is not limited to one particular scale, manufacturer or style of modelling.

When does Scale Model Club run?
Scale Model Club normally runs on Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Check the KDM Gaming Hub events calendar for upcoming dates and any schedule changes.
What age is Scale Model Club for?
Scale Model Club has a Purple Star rating and is for people aged 16 and over.
What types of models can I bring?
A wide range of projects are welcome, including aircraft, military vehicles, cars, ships, sci-fi kits, figures, Gundam, dioramas and other scale modelling projects.
Is Scale Model Club suitable for beginners?
Yes. Beginners and experienced model builders are welcome. The club is a good opportunity to see different techniques and learn from other local hobbyists.
Do I need to bring my own model and tools?
Yes. Bring the model, tools and consumable materials you need for your own project unless the individual event listing states otherwise.
Do I have to finish a model during the session?
No. Work at your own pace. You can bring the same project back over several sessions or work on something different each week.
Can I attend on my own?
Yes. Solo attendees are welcome. Scale Model Club is designed to give local hobbyists somewhere to meet others who enjoy model building.
